How are the the Recording Boot Camps? different than the big recording schools?

The program was designed to be a very different than any other options out there. Aside from being far less expensive and a much shorter, it is different in several other ways. The workshops are not designed to be career training, but simply a way to help people make better recordings, regardless of whether they want to do it professionally or simply for a creative outlet. We will not teach you how to be an assistant an a commercial studio, we give you the tools to make the recordings you want to make.

One other big difference is that anyone that teaches a student anything at a Recording Boot Camp (or private consulting) is a full time pro with major credits. Many recording schools use instructors without significant real world experiences.

Do the Recording Boot Camps do Pro Tools Training? (or logic? or Cuebase? or Sonar? ??.)

No. The Recording Boot Camps are “format agnostic”, all of the techniques and skills we teach apply to any software platform as well as working with stand alone analog and digital systems. Engineers that master the core concepts of recording and mixing can easily work in any recording situation. We can offer format specific training in private consulting sessions, but it is not part of the Recording Boot Camps.

Is financing available?

Home Recording Boot Camp does not offer its own financing, but accepts all major credit and debit cards through Pay Pal.

Is it possible to attend Home Recording Boot Camp part time?

No. When you are at Home Recording Boot Camp you are living and breathing recording. The programs are fun and intense and all consuming. Course run from 11am to 7-8pm.

Is there housing available for out of town students?

We do not have on site housing but there are several options for quality hotels at good prices near by. We can provide students with information about local hotels and various price points. Accommodations are arranged for the students as part of our Boot Camp in Italy.

Does Home Recording Boot Camp have an internship program?

Internships can be a great opportunity for people looking to learn more about life in a commercial studio. We can offer assistance to our best students looking to get an internship but we do not have a placement program. One note on internships: if you are considering attending another recording program, note that many of them include internships when they calculate total number of course hours. You could actually be paying a school money to work at a commercial business for free.
